WORKING TO PROMOTE DEMOCRATS SINCE 1828
The Democratic Party can trace its rich history as the oldest political party in the United States to 1792. The Ashe County branch of the Democratic Party is proud to have been a part of Democratic endeavors since 1828.
In reflection of the growth and maturity of our great nation, the Democratic Party has also evolved to mirror the American culture of unity and hard work.
Although Democrats may come from diverse ideological, socioeconomic, racial, spiritual, and educational backgrounds; we recognize that we are more similar than different, and stronger together than divided.
Our policies and programs aim to hold true to this guiding principle while acknowledging the need for stewardship of our resources to ensure both short-term and long-term needs are met. We are proud to be Democrats and even more proud to be American!
"Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country." Franklin D. Roosevelt
