We believe adequate and affordable housing should be a right. It is essential for the stability and security for an individual and family.

 

A secure and stable home is the center of our social, emotional, and economic lives. Local, state, and federal governments have critical roles to play in encouraging the provision of, and creating the environment for, affordable housing.

 

Housing should be safe and sanitary for the occupants and should meet all applicable building, occupancy, and habitation codes and standards.

 

We also believe that local governments should adopt minimum housing standards for residences and adequately fund and enforce standards to ensure that residents have safe, sanitary, and secure housing.
