Thank You Buddy!
In case you missed our last General Meeting, Roy "Buddy" Downs gave a fascinating presentation on nuclear and hydrogen power generation, and how they might fit into America's future energy needs. Buddy's decades of expertise in the nuclear power industry shone through. His presentation elicited many inciteful questions from attendees. Who knew there were so many nuclear-informed people in Ashe County. Buddy is a long-time Ashe Dem and volunteers his time working on several committees. Thank you Buddy!
November's Litter Sweep
Ashe Dems did their part on Sat., Nov. 11, keeping Ashe Beautiful during its Litter Sweep along West Deep Ford Road near Lansing. Among the finds? Lots of plastic; a half inflated but usable soccer ball; a soup spoon; a tire iron with one stuck lug nut; and a used tire. Many thanks to everyone for their help: Ben Massey, Darlene, Ralph, Beth, Brenda, Scot, Nancy, Mike, Steve, and Dahr. And the pancakes at the Oddfellows breakfast were awesome. Thanks Nancy and Nancy!
Fascinating Presentation by Vote Owl Reps
In case you missed it, the founders of Vote Owl gave Ashe Dems a fascinating presentation on the mobile phone app Vote Owl, which is a one-stop-shop app that can empower voters and combat disinformation. Read more here.
